We are an established care agency with aims to provide care and support for people who need some level of assistance to stay independent, in their own homes, at times convenient to them, and in ways that they find agreeable.
We have sound principles for the way we run our service. Central to these is our belief that the rights of service users are paramount.
FirstCare is committed to the provision of high quality, self directed care that delivers positive, sustainable outcomes because our clients' care plans don’t just look at the tasks that we carry out to help them, but on how those tasks make a real difference to their quality of life and ability to live independently.
Our Principles
1. We focus on you, the service user. We try to provide personal care and support in ways which have positive benefits for your quality of life and encourage you to take an active part in making decisions about your care.
2. We want to be the best that we can be. We constantly examine how we provide services to make sure that we are meeting our aims and objectives, and we welcome your feedback and that from your friends and relatives. We are whole-heartedly committed to providing top quality services and to continuously improve the quality of care that we offer.
3. We work entirely for your welfare. We aim to provide a package of care that makes a real difference to your personal and healthcare needs and preferences. We will work with other services and professionals to help you to maximise your independence and to support you to be a part of your community.
4. To know what you need from the service, and make sure that we, or another organisation, provide the services that you need. Before we work with you, we carry out a thorough assessment of what assistance you need from us, and how you would like us to arrange that assistance.
5. We will visit you at least once a year to check that your needs have not changed (which we call a reassessment), but promise to reassess your needs as frequently as necessary. We will also make sure that the service that we provide is flexible enough to change as your needs or preferences change.
6. We promise to employ quality staff. We require all our staff to achieve nationally recognised qualifications, and work to standards set by the Care Quality Commission.
Our Carers
All our carers are fully trained with most of them having many years of experiences in this field. We offer and ensure that all our carers undertake the required training. Also, for our clients’ security and safety, our carers are comprehensively background-checked and are only employed subject to an enhanced UK Criminal Records Bureau check.
Before assigning a carer to a client, the carer is made fully aware of the individual needs and preferences of the client, including their medical history. They are carefully prepared to provide tailored support which meets the special requirements of each individual and family.
Equality and Diversity Statement
At FirstCare, we value the rights of all people, and will take positive steps to identify and meet the needs of all individuals in the community who may need our help. We believe that the members of the community we serve should be treated fairly and equally, regardless of the individual's race, ethnic origin, cultural background, religion or belief, gender, disability, age and sexual preference.
